Job Summary

Associate engineer will be directly involved with development, implementation, and support of Manufacturing processes and equipment, supporting package fabrication for industry leading power component solutions.  Position requires a Collaborative approach with NPI, Quality, Design team to drive robust Manufacturing products in a continuous improvement environment.

Job Description

•    Developing, qualifying and programming in-line automated equipment.
•    Drives change with legacy and new technology products, identifying process variability and working with manufacturing teams on tracking root causes leading to yield improvements and lower production cost.
•    Monitor line yield, scrap and equipment utilization on a daily basis.   Disposition materials as appropriate.
•    Writes qualification reports and prepares presentations for peer review covering process improvement activities to support technologies being developed that our customers use in applications such as cloud servers, autonomous vehicles, military and industrial equipment.
•    Supports the organizational goal of operating with IATF 16949, ISO … 
•    Work independently as well as lead cross-functional development teams.  Uses the DMAIC process.
•    Work with Design, Test, and Quality Engineering to implement yield and quality enhancements
•    Work with hourly production and maintenance personnel to improve line performance
•    Review all new product designs for compatibility with process capability.  Make appropriate recommendations on new designs.
•    Identify and analyze data for trends
•    Initiate and approve manufacturing documentation
•    Investigate problems, determine root cause, and implement corrective and preventative actions
•    Expected to be hands on with equipment, including occasional maintenance and troubleshooting
•    Will have opportunity to learn front end processes such as screen printing, adhesive dispensing and solder reflow.
 

Education / Qualifications

•    Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Chemical.  
•    1+ year of experience gained through Co-op or internship experience
•    Experience with the Automotive Requirements such as IATF 16949 Certification, PPAP, BIQ, FTQ considered a plus.
•    Experience using design based software systems.  Examples include Solid Works, Pro Engineer, or Auto CAD. 
•    Ability to understand, analyze, and resolve moderately complex technical problems

Compensation Data

Salary Range:

$64,000.00 $80,000.00 $104,000.00
