Job Description

  • Perform design reviews of both AC-DC and DC-DC power supplies with a focus on compliance
  • Review schematics and PCB layouts using CAD software
  • Work with Thermal, Mechanical and Electrical engineering groups to test and evaluate new designs
  • Support internal and external customers with Compliance Engineering related inquiries
  • Participate in ISO 17025 and ISO 9001 audits
  • Manage safety agency certifications of new and existing products from concept to production
  • Prepare and submit test data and technical reports to 3rd party safety agencies
  • Manage safety agency certification changes that result from changes to both products and standards
  • Perform product safety testing and provide compliance training and support to other engineering disciplines
  • Review product changes to determine continued compliance
  • Support local offsite product qualification and compliance testing

Education / Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent engineering experience
  • Solid bench experience with oscilloscopes, meters and power analyzers
  • 5+ years of experience with 3 years directly related to power supply design, test or applications
  • Knowledge of Product Safety and EMI/EMC concepts, standards and requirements
  • Knowledge of Quality Management System requirements, calibration and traceability
  • Excellent communication skills and problem solving abilities
  • Solid computer skills and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
  • A self-starter with the ability to multitask and work independently
  • Familiarity with PFC and switching power supply topologies
  • Ability to review schematics, mechanical CAD models, drawings and PCB artwork for compliance
  • Ability to review and interpret thermal simulations and thermal resistance models

Experience with the following is a plus:

  • UL 60950-1, UL  62368-1, IEC CB Scheme
  • EN 55022 / EN 55032, EN 55025 and EN61000-4-5
  • MIL-STD-461, Mil-STD-1275 and MIL-STD-704
  • CE Marking
  • Three Phase AC
  • Spectrum Analyzers
  • Labview
  • Altium
