Job Summary

Vicor is seeking a strong technical contributor for its industrial business unit product marketing team. This role is considered critical to defining product portfolios and specific products that address the needs of the fast-growing markets we serve. This self-motivated individual will ensure success in identifying new product requirements and driving high performance power module products worldwide in the industrial market by collaborating closely with both internal and customer engineering organizations. This individual must have a strong technical background and business acumen and be capable of gaining support and coordinating activities across a dynamic organization.

Job Description

  • Define new product portfolios by linking Vicor technology advancements to customer needs, industry trends, and competitive mapping.
  • Establish and maintain relationships at all top account engineering departments with the goal of having a complete understanding of system roadmaps and how those roadmaps relate to Vicor architectures.
  • Work closely with engineering teams at top accounts to identify customer/market needs.
  • Work closely with Vicor applications engineers, design engineers, and Manufacturing, to translate customer/market needs into technical product definitions and specifications that will drive new product development, including schedules.
  • Lead efforts to determine new product business justifications that include return on investment estimates taking into account revenue forecast and development costs as well as provide input into the technical risk assessment and development timeline.
  • Define and develop product collateral required to achieve market acceptance. Work closely with field sales and application engineers and beta customers to ensure design-in success.
  • Maximize customer product adoption with sales training and support, direct customer interaction, and working closely with field application engineering in support of design-in efforts.
  • Publish and/or present product related articles through trade journals and conferences.

Education / Qualifications

  • BS and/or MS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience or training in technical marketing; MBA preferred
  • 5-10 years of experience working with industrial markets
  • Experience defining analog, mixed-signal, and/or power integrated circuits
  • Self-motivated with a proven track record in technical marketing or applications role
  • Written and creative skills demonstrated through promotional material including presentations and white papers
  • 10 years related technical marketing, sales, or applications engineering
  • Ability to travel world-wide up to 25% of time
