Job Description

Self-motivated individual responsible for the design and construction of various types of molds, punching and forming dies. Able to work closely with all of Vicor’s engineering groups to develop, construct, modify, tooling, jigs, fixtures and modeled parts while keeping accurate records of these processes. Will machine mold and die components and complex close toleranced parts from various engineered plastics, alloy tool steels, metals and composites, using verbal instructions, blueprints, sketches, or CAD database, with minimal supervision. The ability to set up, program, and run all C.N.C. operated and conventional tool room equipment.

Education / Qualifications

•    8+ years of experience in the machine tool trade.
•    4 years mold making/tool making experience- strongly preferred. 
•    Technical education degree or equivalent.
•    Proficient in the use of CAD/CAM software (Mastercam preferred).
•    4 years minimum experience in the programming and operation of FanucWire EDM
•    Proficient in CAD/Data base file management
•    Thorough knowledge of various metals and plastics.
•    The ability to complete all aspects of mold making/tool making from design to completion.

Compensation Data

Salary Range: $67,840 - 80,000
Please note: This range is based on our current market driven pay structures. Individual salaries are determined based upon a variety of factors including but not limited to, a candidates overall qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience as well as company internal equity.
