Vicor is seeking someone who thrives at the intersection of engineering and customer interaction, especially in the fast-evolving world of electric vehicles and automotive power systems.  Responsible for customer support needed to achieve results for new opportunity pipeline, new design wins, revenue and gross margin goals. Key position within Vicor to drive a new business initiative in automotive, supporting and growing revenues with automakers (OEMs) and tier one suppliers to OEMs.
This self-motivated individual will ensure success in identifying new product requirements and driving high performance power module products worldwide in the automotive market by collaborating closely with internal and external engineers to ensure successful automotive programs. This individual must have a strong technical background and business acumen and be capable of gaining support and coordinating activities across a dynamic organization.

Job Description

•    Program management, products and projects associated with Automotive OEM and tier one customers
•    Establish and maintain relationships at all top account engineering departments with the goal of having a complete understanding of system roadmaps and how those roadmaps relate to Vicor architectures
•    Articulate technology, power architectures, and product positioning to both business and technical users
•    Directly support customer program requirements from discovery to PPAP and (SOP) production
•    Work closely with engineering teams at top accounts to identify customer/market needs
•    Strong troubleshooting abilities in power electronics and automotive systems
•    Responsible for building an opportunity pipeline and driving design ins and wins leading to new revenue for Vicor
•    Excellent communication and time management
•    Familiarity with EV charging, network connections, and embedded systems

Education / Qualifications

•    Self-motivated with a proven track record in field applications or DCDC applications role
•    8+ years’ experience in Application Engineering
•    3-5 years in power supply design or application engineering ideally with one or more of the following (DC-DC converters, inverters, HV-LV conversion, 800V-400V-48V-12V architectures) 
•    BS and/or MS in Electrical Engineering
•    Michigan based position
•    Knowledge or past experience with DC/DC converters would be ideal in this new position: aimed at target applications: powertrain and chassis systems, inverters, on board chargers, 48V auxiliary loads, and battery charging and various systems for EV, HEV, BEV, PHEV, Mild Hybrid vehicle platforms
•    Semiconductor technical experience, familiarity with automotive standards, AECQ100, IATF-16949 and the PPAP, SOP and safe launch process for automotive customers developing new powertrain systems
•    Expect up to 25% domestic travel to customer sites for support of designs and system development with engineering teams

Compensation Data

Salary Range $130,000 - $150,000
