Job Summary

Qualified candidate will be part of the embedded firmware development team, with responsibility to develop firmware, support hardware-software integration, support system optimization and collaborate with hardware and test engineers to align firmware with product requirements.

Job Description

•    Writing, testing, and debugging firmware code for embedded systems and electronic devices.
•    Implementing and optimizing bootloaders, device drivers, and other low-level software.
•    Designing and implementing firmware for various hardware components.
•    Integrating firmware with hardware components to ensure proper functionality and performance.
•    Troubleshooting and resolving firmware-related issues.
•    Optimizing firmware for efficiency, reliability, and performance.  
•    Conducting debugging, testing, and validation of firmware and software.
•    Collaborating with hardware engineers, software engineers, and product managers to align firmware with product requirements.
•    Documenting firmware design and development processes.
 

Education / Qualifications

•    BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of firmware development experience.
•    Strong experience with C-based MCU firmware development using MCUs from STM32 or TI or Microchip:  ARM based MCU preferred and TMS320 is desirable.
•    Writing, testing, and debugging firmware code (often in C/C++) for embedded systems and electronic devices.
•    Proficiency with developing I2C, CAN, SPI, RS422 communication protocol using MCUs.
•    Development of hardware commissioning process to automatically program/calibrate software on automated production lines.
•    Collaborating with hardware engineers, and product managers to align firmware with product requirements and schedules.
•    Feedback control of dc-dc converters or inverter-drives is a plus.
•    Experience with bootloaders, device drivers, and other low-level software.
•    Experience with Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) or VITA 46.11 protocol is a plus.
•    Experience with version control systems (Git, SVN) and software development lifecycle processes.
•    Strong communication and documentation skills.
•    Familiarity with power supplies and controls is a plus.

Compensation Data

Salary Range:

$100,000 - $130,000

Please note: This range is based on our current market driven pay structures. Individual salaries are determined based upon a variety of factors including but not limited to, a candidates overall qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience as well as company internal equity.
