Job Summary

Vicor Corporation is seeking a quality & reliability lab technician to serve as the front line of quality assurance. In this role, you will collaborate with Reliability, Design and Development Engineers to execute accelerated stress tests, ensuring our integrated circuits meet rigorous durability standards for long-term field use.

Job Description

•    Reliability Qualification: Execute end-to-end device and package-level qualifications, including ESD, HTOL, Temperature Cycling, Bake, and HAST standards.
•    Systems Operation: Configure, operate, and troubleshoot accelerated environmental test systems and Automated Test Equipment (ATE).
•    Technical Rework & Assembly: Perform high-precision BGA re-balling, lead rework for RMA units, and assembly of custom test fixtures or evaluation boards.
•    Data Integrity: Maintain and audit reliability databases. Perform data entry and track quality records using Microsoft Office & internal system to ensure timely reporting of degradation trends.
•    Equipment Calibration: Manage the upkeep and calibration of environmental chambers, thermal streamers, and "burn-in" hardware to JEDEC specifications.
•    Process Improvement: Support R&D roadmaps by implementing improved qualification process to enhance product yield and reliability and efficiency of data collection.

Education / Qualifications

•    Education: Associate’s Degree or Diploma in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related technical field.
•    Experience: 2–3+ years in semiconductor manufacturing or R&D lab environments, with a focus on package or die-level reliability.
•    Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with MSL reflow, electrical testing, and prototype reliability testing.
o    Proficiency with lab tools: HAST, Burn-in Chambers, Ovens, Oscilloscopes, Digital multi-meters, and Power supplies.
o    Ability to interpret electrical schematics, circuits, and technical datasheets.
•    Soft Skills: Strong verbal/written communication; ability to follow complex assembly drawings with minimal supervision.
•    Compliance: Strict adherence to ESD safety protocols; cleanroom experience is a plus.

Compensation Data

Salary Range:

$26 - $34/hour

Please note: This range is based on our current market driven pay structures. Individual salaries are determined based upon a variety of factors including but not limited to, a candidates overall qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience as well as company internal equity.
