Job Summary
A senior member of the engineering team, responsible for establishing a suite of design automation tools, including schematic entry, simulation, design environment and layout. The position has broad coverage for all IC design and layout tools, providing state of the art new product development capability
Job Description
PDK Development:
• Foundry Support
• Building Model Interfaces, Symbols, Pcells, LVC and DRC
• Customizations and Wrappers for Cohesion, Mentor and Cadence Tools
Tool Support and Integration:
• Integrating 3rd Party tools, like Matlab or Cliosoft into existing Design Tools
• License Management
• Debug of installed tools, like circuit simulators, schematic capture and layout tools
• Integration of Cell Libraries from Foundries
System Administration:
• Writing scripts in Linux for backup, reboot, adding or subtracting engineers to databases, etc..
• Building and maintaining file servers in Linux
• Interface with Vicor IT
Communication, Documentation and Training:
• Putting in place methodologies and training for positive adoption by the design team
• Working with IT department, making sure tools are integrated consistently and securely.
• Working with management, securing proper tool ‘vision,’ minimizing impact to schedule & existing expertise.
Education / Qualifications
- At least 7 years experience in IC, preferably power IC, electronic design automation, preferably in small or mid-sized organizations.
- Must have solid experience working with Cadence tools
- Deep understanding of technical foundations EDA systems with technical expertise in state of the art circuit and system simulation methods.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
- A strong technical acumen with problem solving skills
- BSEE or BSCE required, advanced technical degree desired.
