Job Summary
The role requires a highly motivated, customer oriented, business development/sales leader with in-depth automotive experience working with Automotive OEM’s and tier-one/two in the automotive market. Strong communication and team-building skills with existing relationships at strategic customers required for this Automotive Strategic Account Manager position. The applicant must exhibit a combination of strong sales skills, technical understanding and automotive experience to develop new business opportunities and drive them through to production for Vicor.

Job Description
• Knowledge of the automotive segment, key customers and their applications are essential for success, existing relationships are critical at key customers targeted for penetration, with ability to interface with all levels of management.
• Ability to develop an account strategy with a set of target customers aligned with Vicor’s strengths and potential, set a course of action and set activities in place to support it, assist in Vicor’s growth in this new market segment. Assigned customers located in Detroit Metro area, and throughout North America, 20% - 30% travel.
• Work directly with internal Automotive BU; business development team, local and factory applications and systems engineering, product line, and customer programs to increase the opportunity funnel, drive design wins and create new partnerships for Vicor in Automotive.
• Articulate technology, power architectures, and product positioning to both business and technical users.
• Coordinate with global counterparts on applications, products and interface with customers having locations outside of North America.
• Support the automotive business team to aid in new product development, product definitions and validation, through in depth automotive customer knowledge, strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with customers, peers and management.
• Develop understanding of customer, competitor and industry trends and developments.
• Manage and maintain opportunities through Vicor customer management tools. Providing monthly updates for WW Automotive Team and internal Automotive Group.
• Lead in-person and Web customer and internal meetings as necessary to drive design wins, address issues, communicate updates and build relationships.
• Organized and analytical, able to eliminate sales and technical obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches.
• Good presentation skills and able to communicate professionally in written responses to emails, RFPs and when submitting reports.
Education / Qualifications
Preferred Skills & Knowledge:
• Essential team skills: strong interpersonal skills for relationship building with customers, Vicor’s global sales force, peers and management, reporting to Director Automotive North America.
• Knowledge of the automotive segment, key automotive customers and their programs are essential for success, existing relationships in engineering and sourcing at key North American OEM and Tier 1 customers.
• Semiconductor technical experience, familiarity with functional safety ISO 26262 standards, AECQ100, TS-16949 certification and the PPAP, SOP and safe launch process for automotive customers.
• Knowledge or past selling experience with power architectures and DC/DC converters would be ideal in this new position: aimed at target applications: powertrain and chassis systems, on board charging, inverters, battery charging, 12V/48V converters and BMS systems for EV, HEV, BEV, PHEV, Mild Hybrid vehicle platforms. Experience with vehicle power delivery systems are essential for new and emerging applications and new product opportunities.
• Capable of combining industry trends and customer requirements with available and future technologies to recommend and suggest new products for powertrain and chassis systems for 800V, 400V, 48V and 12V vehicle power delivery networks.
• Work with Vicor’s automotive team and local FAEs to provide deliverables needed for success, provide competitive feedback on applications, products and technical trends observed from customers.
• Ultimately responsible for creating new business opportunities and closing design wins for new revenue.
Education and/or Experience:
• OEM and Tier 1 Account experience, 5+ yrs min experience in the automotive segment.
• BSEE or equivalent experience required.

Salary Range $134,080 - $167,600 - $217,880
